As co-founder of the National Humane Society and an active Board Member , Kellie's volunteer efforts have earned her honors including the prestigious Eckerd's "Woman of the Year" and the NHS' "Volunteer of the Year" for her rescue efforts during 9/11 and Hurricane Charley.

Kellie also lobbies for the rights of people with disabilities, a cause close to her heart. Since championing this cause, Kellie has been asked to join Florida's Consortium of Advocates for Infants and Toddlers. And recently was asked to join the Board of Directors for Florida's IYC -Early Steps Program providing services to children at risk for developmental disabilities.
